The Human Resource Generalist will join a team of 60 purpose-driven staff members in a friendly, focused, fast-paced entrepreneurial office environment.   This position requires a level of human resource understanding as to be seen as a subject matter expert and innovator to help the department grow. This person needs to be able to work independently and is encourage (and expected) to be seen as a consultant to bring ideas to the National Vice President to improve policies and procedures. They must also be able to multitask, be comfortable with administrative tasks, and project work.
 
Opportunities to contribute to our mission:

Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; identify ways to improve policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual. 

Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. 

 Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. 

Performs benefits administration, including working with benefits vendor to set up new employees, communicate changes, and communicate benefits information to employees. 

Handles employee relations counseling. 

Manages new hire onboarding and orientation. 

Prepare termination, severance letters, and COBRA. 

Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
 Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed. 

 Maintains human resource information records and compiles reports from the database. 

Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations and stays abreast of changes in laws as to consult leadership. Partners with HR employment law attorney to make changes as necessary to policies and procedures according to law changes. 

Manages immigration process while partnering with immigration law attorney. 

 Manages and processes payroll for all employees. 

Assists with recruitment effort as needed.
 
Qualifications required to be successful in the role: 

 

Minimum of 7 years experience as an HR Generalist 

Minimum of 5 years experience processing payroll   

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required 

Minimum of PHR certification required 

Minimum of 2 years of experience with HRIS and preferably Paychex 

Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, MS Word, Google Documents, and general Internet skills 

Salesforce.com experience a plus
