PeopleSuite and the Mooresville Arts celebrate the 15th Annual Youth Art Show!

This year’s 15th Annual Youth Art Show Competition sponsored by Mooresville Arts was a great success.

PeopleSuite was honored to sponsor three senior scholarships for the annual event that attracted over 267 submissions from local student artists from grades K-12. David Preston, President of PeopleSuite, presented the sponsor scholarships to three senior students who showed outstanding artistic talent. The awards were presented to the artists at a community event held Friday, March  8.

First Place Winner:  Allison Wilson $500
Allison’s colored pencil, titled “Beauty Kills,” earned her first place this year.  Her attention to the details is what earned her first place.  Allison attends Lake Norman High School.

Second Place Winner:  Kendall Kelly $250
Kendall’s “Surpize” at first glance appears to be a photo.  It’s not.  Her use of graphite, charcoal is amazing and earned her second place this year.  Kendall attends Pine Lake Prep.

Third Place Winner:  Sarah Quinn $250
“Welcome to the Freakshow,” by Sarah was nominated for third place.  Also using colored pencil, her drawing is unique in imagination.  Sarah attends Lake Norman High School.

The event attracted nearly 375 in attendance with students presenting their works of art for family, friends and community. “We are honored to be part of the event again this year,” said David Preston, PeopleSuite President. “We are proud of our community and are happy to provide scholarships to local students who appreciate and love art.”

The Youth Art Show is on display through April 5 at Mooresville Arts, 103 W. Center Ave. in Mooresville and the community is welcome. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 12-4 pm and Saturday, 10 am – 2 pm.
